Question: What’s the secret of good design?
Answer: Team effort.

These days there are so many different skills involved with designing a website, it can’t be done by just one clever person. Matt our Account Director will be your single point of contact and he’s the guy you talk to about want you want. From there he picks his dream team for the project. This involves arty types, wordsmiths, techies and designers. More hands make light work; and in the case of Web Windows that equals stunning looking websites.

Logo design

The owner of this holiday cottage came to us completely open-minded. It’s the kind of brief we love. We quickly brainstormed a name (making sure the domain was available) and flew into action starting with the logo design. It was a whirlwind of a week and the results speak for themselves.

Light on text, BIG on photography

Web Design follows fashion as much as the clothes industry. This season’s look is “Light and Airy”, not too much text and loads of high quality photographs. Responsive designs are an absolute must as more mobiles now access the Internet than desktop devices. Our stock-in-trade is WordPress with a generous smattering of cute features.

Client Testimonial

I had the idea for a holiday cottage website whilst on a long weekend in Barcelona. The property had recently been converted from a barn to a granny annexe, but because of a sad change in circumstances it never got put to use. I contacted Web Windows because I really liked their own site. I also needed the site created really quickly and I’d had some really good reports. The reason the website needed to be built in a hurry was because a huge local event, Burghley Horse Trials, was starting in 10 days and accommodation rates at that time peak. The brief was quite a comprehensive shopping list. I needed a name, available domain name, a logo, colour scheme, a mobile friendly website, great photography, design touches which give the property its unique vintage-style theme, illustrations and availability calendar. Also, I was on a tight budget and wanted to be able to easily change the content myself.

“When I was shown the final design,
I was absolutely blown away”

(and nearly booked myself in for a fortnight)

We started taking bookings immediately and haven’t looked back since. Looking back, at every stage of the process I felt that I was in the hands of a really capable team. My day-today contact was Matt and he coordinated all the work at his end. Nothing was too much trouble and the standard of the work they produced against such a tight deadline was incredible.

Hand drawn illustrations

These illustrations were sketched-out on a note pad, photographed and then tweaked in Photoshop. They give Pea Cottage website a home-spun, vintage style look which is perfect for its market.

Fully responsive design

A “Response Design” means that the layout of a page adapts its content according to the device it’s displayed on. So on a mobile phone buttons get bigger, content stacks beautifully and phone numbers automatically dial when clicked on. Given the fact that more mobiles connect to the internet than PC’s, this feature is a must.
